The Ocean 71 is a 21.6-meter masthead ketch designed by E.G. van de Stadt, with over 20 built by Southern Ocean Ltd. from 1970 onward. Based on the 1969 ocean racer *Stormvogel*, the model was offered as both a racing yacht and a luxury cruiser; *Ocean Spirit* won the double-handed Around Britain race in 1970. The 1972 Ocean 71 *Ocean Joy* features a split rig, twin cockpits, and a center-cockpit control layout, with a 115-horsepower Perkins 6354 engine installed in 2016.0:11 Its deck equipment includes hydraulic Reckman furling for the headsail and boomvang, three electric Anderson self-tailing winches, and a Spade anchor. *Ocean Joy* carries 1,900 liters of fuel and 1,700 liters of water, and its electronics include a Raymarine suite with twin autopilots.3:00 The interior of *Ocean Joy* features teak-and-ebony soles, blue leather upholstery, and Condaria reverse-cycle air conditioning, with an owner’s stateroom and en-suite bath.7:13
