Aboard *Velero Regina*, a 2005 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 40.3 named *Krait* completed a circumnavigation over two years, departing Alicante on July 7, 2020.2:53 The crew tested the boat in the Mediterranean before crossing the Atlantic from Las Palmas to the Eastern Caribbean.3:13 The voyage included passages through the Panama Canal, a 29–30-day Pacific crossing to the Marquesas, and stops in the Tuamotu atolls, Tahiti, Bora Bora, Tonga, New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu, the Torres Strait, Indonesia, Bali, Cocos Keeling, Mauritius, and South Africa.6:06 The crew used chain fenders for anchoring over coral in the Tuamotus and a Spade anchor to survive a 50-knot anchorage in Tonga.8:55 The 1,000-mile South African coast required careful timing to navigate the Agulhas Current.17:21
