The Moody 36S is a masthead sloop designed by Angus Primrose and built by Marine Projects Ltd. and A. H. Moody, Sons from 1981 to 1983. It is an aft cockpit version of the Moody 36, with an LOA of 11.0 meters, a beam of 3.8 meters, a draft of 1.5 meters, and a displacement of 6667 kg. Aboard *Sailing Gently*, a Moody 36, *Bambola*, survived a 70-knot storm at Lady Musgrave Island, Australia, holding position with a CQR anchor and 50 meters of chain while other boats dragged onto a coral reef. *Sailing Gently* also sailed a 1979 Moody 36 through the Caribbean and the Panama Canal, finding it a capable and comfortable cruiser for long-distance sailing.4:01 The Moody 36 is considered a superior performer compared to ketches and offers better handling and interior space than similarly sized catamarans.14:27
