The crew of the Lagoon 410 S2 *Suria* transits the northern coast of Sicily, moving from Arinella to Termini Imerese, Cefalù, and Capo d’Orlando.0:10 During the passage, the crew navigates light winds, frequently relying on the engine while planning a route toward the Strait of Messina.15:12 In Cefalù, they hike to the 10th-century Norman castle, Il Castello, noting the steep 260-meter ascent and the necessity of sturdy footwear.7:35 While anchored, the owner addresses a persistent creaking noise in the boom’s gooseneck fitting by installing custom-cut polyethylene washers to prevent metal-on-metal friction.16:53 The crew also cleans the hull’s Coppercoat antifouling, noting that the hard coating allows for easy removal of barnacles with a scraper.19:30 As they approach mid-October, they monitor weather windows for a potential crossing to Greece, aiming to time their transit through the Strait of Messina to coincide with favorable tidal conditions.17:57 The passage concludes with preparations for a further 30-mile leg toward Milazzo.20:38
