A 1989 Hylus 44 recently dropped $25,000 in price, bringing its listing to just under $100,000.1:07 This blue-water cruiser features a center cockpit, a mast stepped to the keel, and a galley designed for bracing during passages.3:08 Recent upgrades include new standing rigging, a turbo Yanmar engine, 500 amp hours of AGM batteries, and a full-batten mainsail with reinforced reef points.4:29 The boat includes a two-bedroom layout with an island bed in the aft cabin and two heads.3:57 Current market conditions, including high interest rates, insurance challenges, and the seasonal migration of cruisers toward the Caribbean, have slowed boat sales, creating a buyer's market for motivated sellers.7:17 Prospective buyers should consider making aggressive offers, such as $80,000, to sellers facing winter storage costs or urgent life changes.6:29 The Annapolis Boat Show often influences market activity, as many buyers pause their search to evaluate new models before committing to older vessels.8:06
