The refit of the 30-foot S/V SeaSprite focuses on interior structural repairs and storage modifications. Workers replaced damaged mahogany veneer with white laminate on interior bulkheads and reworked the surrounding trim. The project team reinstalled port lights and created new storage access points beneath the stove and the port-side settee. Forward, the crew stabilized and re-glassed a bulkhead that had suffered rot due to a lack of drainage, adding a limber hole to allow water to flow from the chain locker to the bilge. Future planned tasks include replacing aging through-hulls, installing Corian countertops, and recoring sections of the cabin coach roof. The owner is currently evaluating a potential conversion from wheel steering to a tiller system. The vessel remains out of the water, with the goal of completing the refit by late 2024 or early 2025.
