The boat anchors off Baddeck and New Campbellton, where the crew explores Kidston Island and its 1912 lighthouse. Departing the lake requires careful tidal planning, as the narrow exit points experience currents reaching four knots. The crew notes that timing departures with these tidal switches is essential to avoid fighting strong adverse currents when exiting the inland sea back to the Atlantic.
