The crew of Northern Brees, a Baltic yacht, returns to Troon, Scotland, after an 11-month absence to prepare for the remainder of the sailing season.1:00 Maintenance tasks include replacing prop shaft anodes, cleaning the propeller, and installing a custom stainless steel bowsprit attachment designed to support a new furling asymmetric gennaker.3:14 The owners replace three aging scupper hoses located in a cramped aft lazarette to resolve a water leak under the aft cabin bed.5:54 They also reattach a B&G autopilot drive cylinder that vibrated loose during an Atlantic crossing, which caused secondary damage to nearby ductwork.8:51 To prevent winter mold growth, the crew previously removed all soft goods and utilized tube heaters and a dehumidifier, which kept the interior dry.13:24 The boat is relaunched at Troon Yachthaven after waiting for a favorable tide to clear the harbor entrance.10:46
