The crew of Nandji - Frothlyfe faces a mandatory departure from Malaysia after immigration authorities end automatic visa extensions granted during the COVID-19 pandemic.0:07 With nine days initially provided to leave the country, the owners apply for a special pass to secure more time for boat repairs and to accommodate their newborn daughter.0:22 Supported by a marina manager, they successfully secure a 30-day extension, though they must treat this as a final deadline.7:20 The vessel remains in a boatyard for significant maintenance, including shaft alignment and engine servicing, before it can return to the water.12:45 The crew evaluates regional cruising options, noting that Thailand requires a $5,000 visa fee and quarantine, while Indonesia offers limited-stay visas but remains unpredictable.12:59 Other routes across the Indian Ocean are restricted by seasonal weather patterns, pet-entry bans in the Maldives and Seychelles, and high quarantine costs in Australia.11:37 The crew plans to prioritize finishing boat work to prepare for departure within the 30-day window.8:27
