Qué cubre este vídeo

After purchasing a 62-foot Sunreef luxury yacht in Portugal, the crew of Supernova encountered multiple mechanical failures during their first 140-nautical-mile shakedown sail. The vessel suffered broken coupling bolts on the starboard engine, a leaking anti-siphon valve, and failed bilge pumps in both engine rooms. Additionally, the autopilot malfunctioned due to misaligned rudders, which required manual adjustment of the hydraulic rams to restore steering synchronization. With the assistance of a diesel mechanic met in a local anchorage, the crew performed emergency repairs, including using super glue to temporarily seal a cracked hose connector and vice grips to lock a faulty anti-siphon valve. They also cleaned growth from the propeller before departing Faro. The experience highlighted the necessity of verifying rudder alignment on catamarans with dual hydraulic steering systems and maintaining a strict watch schedule when critical engine components are bypassed or temporarily repaired.
