Westsail 32 heeling under sail through dramatic seascape
Qué cubre este vídeo
Jerome Rand interviews Marc, who recently sold his Westsail 32 — described as one of the finest examples of the model — after listing it for under six months on Yacht World.6:33 Marc and his partner Steph bought the boat years earlier, partly influenced by Jerome's own work with a Westsail 32, and the two sailed roughly 2,000 miles together on it.11:15 The sale involved a broker based in Tennessee/Panama City who screened inquiries remotely while Marc handled showings locally; the boat was shown to only two parties before the buyer.51:50 Thorough pre-existing documentation — including Jerome's video, a video by Seth, and one by Lady K Sailing — reduced buyer requests for additional photos and helped the boat sell itself.10:46 The new owner, Colin Denker, has already begun modifications including a new dodger.18:01 The conversation covers the emotional arc of selling a boat, the patience required, and the value of a well-documented listing. Jerome also mentions his own sailing plans in a triangle between his current location, the Abacos, and Cape Hatteras, and references past Westsail 32 owners including Lila of Sailing Vessel Callisto in Amsterdam.1:07:49 A well-documented listing with video walkthroughs reduces buyer friction and shortens time on market.
