Day three of a shakedown cruise aboard the Island SPIRIT 525 catamaran, anchored off the uninhabited island of Koh Pai in Thailand's National Marine Park, west of Pattaya.Watch Bobby, joined by guest Olivia, motored the few miles from Koh Larn in near-zero wind — 1.8 knots — at seven knots under electric motors.2:58 An ongoing electrical fault occupies the morning: the house bank drained from 40% to 28% overnight despite a 3-kilowatt DC-to-DC charger running continuously, because the drive system consumes 400–500 watts of that capacity and the house bank is drawing significantly more than the expected 1,800 watts, leaving the net overnight charge negative.1:17 The plan is to enjoy Koh Pai, then return to the marina in Pattaya for diagnosis.1:57 At Koh Pai, Bobby ferries two dogs ashore via a Highfield Sport 360 with a Yamaha 40-horsepower outboard.4:51 The beach has fine white sand but heavy trash accumulation behind the tree line, attributed partly to fishing boats — squid fishermen using halogen lights and lift nets — who appear to use the island as a base.11:33 Bobby cooks Thai Wagyu steaks and mashed potatoes for the first onboard dinner.14:49 The DC-to-DC charger issue remains unresolved and requires yard attention before extended cruising.1:32
