Qué cubre este vídeo
The crew of the 40-ft catamaran *Escapade* replaces a fixed propeller with a FlexiFold folding propeller while in a Trinidad boatyard to reduce drag and improve sailing performance.2:16 After removing the old propeller using a penetrating lubricant, they install the new unit by securing the hub, blades, and shaft nut without thread locker, as specified by the manufacturer.4:12 They apply PropSpeed, a silicone-based anti-fouling coating, to the new propeller in two coats of etching primer followed by a top coat, working in high-temperature conditions.6:28 The project concludes with a shakedown sail, where the boat reaches 7.4 knots in 20 knots of wind.25:27 During the haul-out, the crew also addresses a small area of rust on the keel and a localized water-filled spot on the rudder, which they drill, drain, and fill with epoxy filler as a temporary measure before a future haul-out.18:31 The autopilot displays a "drive stop" error upon relaunch, and the crew notes a missing mainsail batten during their initial sea trial.22:14
