The repair required him to climb the mast, resulting in physical exhaustion and bruised hands from impacts against the mast in heavy seas. He monitors his position and weather patterns using an onboard computer, GPS, and barometers, while managing power consumption by keeping non-essential electronics and lights off. He tracks his progress toward the Brazilian coast, noting his current position is approximately 180 degrees opposite Ilhabela. The vessel remains in a period of relative calm following the incident.
