Qué cubre este vídeo
Living aboard at the Colonia del Sacramento marina for roughly 60 days, the crew of Thalia breaks down the real costs of staying there versus Buenos Aires.
Moorage at anchor (borneo) runs $130–$140 USD per month, compared to $60 at their Delta island berth in Buenos Aires; Juan Lacaze, a quieter town nearby, offers dock space at roughly half that price but with no services. Shower tokens at the marina cost about $1 USD each; Thalia carries its own hot-water tank, so the crew showers aboard. Food costs roughly $10 USD per day for two people without cooking — roticerías sell milanesas, fries, and hake fillets at competitive prices, and beef cuts run 30% cheaper than Buenos Aires.0:28 Produce quality is notably higher than in Tigre. Bring wine, beer, and soft drinks from Argentina: those run 30% more expensive in Uruguay. Pay everything in cash — the card-dollar exchange rate is worse. Diesel premium carries the largest fuel premium, at roughly 1,600–1,700 Argentine pesos per liter versus about 1,000 in Buenos Aires. Punta del Este is significantly pricier than Colonia for everything.
