Qué cubre este vídeo

The crew of the schooner Yabá is installing the final three major timber sections for the vessel's gunwale, which sits atop the bulwarks and serves as the mounting point for running rigging.0:47 To support these rails, the team is hand-turning approximately 16 wooden columns, or cabezas, using a lathe and chisels.26:13 Ben and his assistant Orlando are shaping these columns to a uniform size, opting for manual chisel work over a slower copying attachment to increase production speed.5:30 The columns are spaced at 50-centimeter intervals and secured with countersunk threaded bars, nuts, and washers.26:15 Additionally, the team is restoring original wooden snail-shaped decorative elements from the pilot house by replacing rotten sections with new timber.15:50 Parallel to the deck work, the crew is cleaning the engine room with a vacuum and compressor to prepare the space for painting and the eventual reinstallation of the engine.14:15
