Matt and Kristen evaluate several used boats on Facebook Marketplace while navigating a complex home purchase in Florida. The couple considers various vessels for potential ocean access, including a 24-foot pontoon, a tri-tune, a fishing boat named "Cat Daddy," and a cuddy cabin model.1:18 They weigh the trade-offs between project boats requiring full teardowns and more serviceable options with functional engines.10:42 Simultaneously, the pair reports on their house hunt, where they successfully negotiated a price reduction after obtaining repair quotes totaling $40,000 to $45,000.12:09 These costs include $17,000 to $22,000 for septic system upgrades, $11,000 for plumbing, and $10,000 to $15,000 for air conditioning.12:41 The transaction remains contingent on a pending property appraisal and a professional pool inspection by a diver.14:08 Despite discovering snake skins under the foundation during a review of inspection photos, the couple intends to proceed with the purchase, citing the property's location near a nature preserve and its direct water access to the Bahamas as primary value drivers.14:58
