A $500 Hobie Cat 16 requires trailer maintenance before it can be safely towed.1:08 The trailer’s existing tires are degraded, necessitating replacement, though the wheel bearings remain in good condition due to the presence of bearing buddies.4:00 The project includes installing a new submersible lighting kit, which requires cleaning ground contact points with a wire wheel and extending the wiring harness using heat-shrink butt connectors.9:23 The trailer’s 1 7/8-inch coupler is replaced with a 2-inch version to match the owner's other boat trailers.13:08 Future plans for the vessel involve a high-production racing event featuring a Hobie Cat, a Laser, and a CL14, with a powerboat acting as an obstacle.5:09 This proposed project requires additional GoPro cameras, volunteer participants, and a dedicated camera boat.6:25
