¿Qué cubre este video?
The refit of the boat *Squib* involves structural preparation for interior paneling and the completion of a custom-built hot water boiler. To prepare for mounting ceiling panels, the crew cuts and fits wooden battens to the hull’s curvature, using a Fein oscillating tool for precise cuts. These battens are bonded to the structure using thickened epoxy, with temporary supports used to maintain pressure during the curing process.
The project also includes finalizing the installation of a DIY hot water boiler, a task previously abandoned due to failed insulation attempts with expanding foam. The crew removes the internal plastic mold and installs the heating element and lower plumbing connections, utilizing a 30mm socket and specialized wrenches to secure the fittings against internal gaskets. A pressure test is performed by connecting aquarium and garden hoses to the unit to verify the integrity of the seals. The remaining gaps between the tank and its housing are slated to be filled with epoxy once the system is confirmed leak-free.
