Installing a new headliner over sprayed cork insulation requires a multi-step process to ensure a clean, professional finish without sewing. The crew of Uma uses a UV-resistant, foam-backed PVC vinyl headliner material, applying it directly to the cork-covered hull sides using spray adhesive.0:45 To create clean, finished edges where the material meets other surfaces, they trim the foam backing from the vinyl edge, fold the vinyl over itself, and glue it down to create a seamless, low-profile termination.11:17 For the ceiling, they template the cabin top using recycled MDF boards, then cut marine-grade plywood panels to match.17:15 These panels are sealed with a clear wood sealer before being wrapped in the vinyl fabric and secured to the ceiling using snap-in button clips previously epoxied to the overhead.26:29 This modular panel system allows for future access to wiring and lighting fixtures.2:22
