¿Qué cubre este video?
The crew of the 42-year-old Venus 46 ketch SV Cordelia has begun a major refit at Monkey Bay Marina in the Rio Dulce, Guatemala.▶ 0:51 After sailing 1,500 miles, the owners identified faulty 240-volt shore power wiring as the priority project, as the existing system—a radial setup with inconsistent wire coloring—tripped the RCD upon connection.▶ 1:03 The owner replaced the radial wiring with a conventional ring main to enable battery charging and the use of a newly acquired air conditioning unit.▶ 3:23 Additional refit tasks include replacing four hatches and 17 portholes, as well as removing a former wood-burning stove station to install a new sofa and berth.▶ 5:01 While living aboard during the refit, the crew is managing daily tasks like water production, which is currently high-volume due to the brackish water conditions of the Rio Dulce.▶ 10:35 The team is also implementing a minimalist approach to reduce weight and clutter, including the removal of old solar panels.▶ 12:46
