Jorman completes the structural repair of a deck section on his sailboat, achieving a rigid, sealed finish after a 24-day restoration process. To prevent delamination and air bubbles, he applies resin in a single session, using varying drying times to ensure the layers cure simultaneously. He pours the mixture from the most liquid to the most viscous, allowing excess resin to escape through an open seam to ensure a tight seal. Despite overnight rain, the laminate cured successfully. The current focus remains on sealing the seams to prevent future water ingress, a process that requires additional sanding and detailing before painting. Jorman notes that he has refined his technique for managing resin cure times, which has significantly improved the efficiency and quality of the lamination. He is currently evaluating whether to sand down existing layers of old epoxy and wood remnants on the deck or to apply a new leveling coat of resin over the surface.
