¿Qué cubre este video?
Louis Sauzedde demonstrates techniques for fitting and preparing transom planking on the wooden boat *Orca*. To refine the edges of pre-fitted planks without disassembling the entire layout, he uses a slipboard technique: he lifts a single plank, inserts a spacer underneath, and planes the edge while the board rests on the sawhorse.▶ 3:03 To improve control and comfort while planing, he attaches a small C-clamp to the side of the hand plane, providing a brace for his hand.▶ 5:24 Before final installation, he installs corner blocks to fill gaps between the planking and the internal transom bracing.▶ 7:04 He traces the planks against the transom frame to mark their final lengths, cutting them slightly long to allow for future beveling.▶ 9:41 To maintain a clean workspace, he drills all fastener holes before applying polysulfide bedding compound, preventing the sealant from fouling the drill bits.▶ 13:48
