A solo sailor and his partner, Silje, charter a Beneteau Oceanus 46.1 from Kavas Yachting in Athens, Greece, for a one-week cruise through the Kyklades. After three days exploring Athens, the crew departs Marina Alimus for a 30-nautical-mile passage to Kytnos. The transit involves shifting winds and a transition to motoring at night after the wind dies. Upon arrival, they anchor at Kalana Beach. The subsequent leg toward Paros features 20-knot winds and significant heeling, which causes the inexperienced partner anxiety until she moves from the cabin to the cockpit. The weather later shifts to rain and cold temperatures, forcing the crew to motor the final hour into Paros. The trip serves as a recovery period for the skipper following a diagnosis of Crohn's disease.
