Cosa tratta questo video
Steph and Travis dock Jibsea along the wharf in downtown St. John's, Newfoundland, timing their arrival for Canada Day — which in Newfoundland doubles as Memorial Day, honoring soldiers lost at Beaumont Hamel in World War I. Berthing in the heart of a capital city is unusual for the crew; they walk Water Street's summer pedestrian mall, explore the Battery neighborhood's colorful fishing-outport houses, and hike to a fog-wrapped overlook of the Narrows — the same dramatic harbor entrance they navigated the previous episode. A patron named Steve lends them his truck, enabling visits that would otherwise have been impractical. At Cape Spear, the easternmost point of land in Canada, they tour a World War II coastal defense battery armed with two American 10-inch guns transferred from Fort Mott, New Jersey in 1941 and decommissioned in 1945, plus the 1836 Cape Spear Lighthouse — the province's oldest — restored to its original appearance and operated by the Cantwell family until 1955. The fishing village of Kitty Vitty, claimed to be Canada's oldest working fishing village, rounds out the St. John's exploration. Jibsea then departs for Conception Bay South, roughly 40 nautical miles up the coast, with an unplanned haulout ahead and a planned summer route via Greenland, Iceland, and the Faroe Islands on the horizon.
