Cosa tratta questo video
Entering the Rio Dulce in Guatemala requires navigating a shifting sandbar at the river mouth, where depths can drop to five feet. The crew of the Lagoon 450 Parlay Revival used updated waypoints from the Rio Dulce Cruises website, imported into Navionics, to successfully clear the bar. Livingston serves as the mandatory port of entry for vessels arriving from abroad. Local agent Raul facilitates the customs and immigration process for a $200 fee, which includes having officials visit the boat. After clearing in, the 20-mile transit up the Rio Dulce features 300-foot cliffs and opens into the lake known as El Golfete. The crew completed the river passage on one engine due to a mechanical issue with the port sail drive, transferring fuel from the port tank to the starboard tank to ensure sufficient range. They arrived at Nanawana Marina for an extensive refit. Rio Dulce offers protected anchorage during hurricane season and access to affordable, high-quality boat labor.
