A cruising couple aboard a sailboat in the Bahamas uses portable Smako diving gear to inspect their hull and clean the bottom while anchored near Nassau.10:23 The crew reports that the 2-liter tanks provide approximately 20 minutes of air at shallow depths, making them effective for routine maintenance and hull cleaning without the bulk of traditional scuba equipment.8:36 They note that while the units are not a replacement for primary scuba tanks, they are highly portable and can be recharged using small compressors powered by 12-volt batteries or a generator.9:44 During their stay in Nassau, the crew also installs a new radar system, navigates local bridges, and explores the Clifton Heritage Underwater Park, including the Ocean Atlas sculpture.4:02 The trip concludes with a night snorkeling excursion in local waters, where the crew encounters a large green sea turtle.21:48 The crew emphasizes that while these portable systems are convenient for shallow-water operations, users should possess basic diving knowledge or receive instruction on safety procedures and buoyancy control.7:44
