Cosa tratta questo video
The Atacama Desert in northern Chile experiences a rare "desierto florido" (flowering desert) phenomenon, triggered by unusually heavy winter rainfall that allows dormant seeds to germinate. The bloom occurs sporadically, typically every four years, and requires at least 15 millimeters of precipitation combined with specific temperature and humidity conditions.7:31 The crew visits the Llanos de Challe National Park, which hosts over 120 species of flora, including various cacti and shrubs.6:56 While the inland desert areas remain clear and sunny, the coastal regions frequently experience heavy cloud cover and fog caused by marine moisture trapped by coastal mountains.18:18 During the exploration, the group discovers significant piles of trash in a non-flowering sector of the desert, raising concerns about environmental impact in the region.12:03 The trip concludes at Bahía Inglesa, where the crew finds a quiet, off-season coastal area suitable for camping.16:10 The flowering event is highly dependent on precise environmental triggers, and visitors should verify recent rainfall before planning a trip to ensure the desert is in bloom.9:27
