Cosa tratta questo video
The crew of the sailing yacht Avanti replaces four house batteries in Savu Savu, Fiji, after suspecting heat damage from the adjacent engine compartment and potential overcharging from an alternator lacking a charge controller.0:50 To prevent recurrence, they install additional polystyrene insulation and a radiative heat shield between the engine and battery compartments.4:56 After the installation, the crew explores the Yasawa Islands, encountering orcas and navigating challenging anchorages characterized by deep water and rocky bottoms that require frequent anchor watches.9:00 During a passage between islands, they experience heavy swell and headwinds that force a temporary return to port.8:36 The crew also documents local provisioning, including preparing a mackerel curry and sampling regional lagers.14:23 Despite the installation of new batteries, the vessel continues to face environmental challenges, including prolonged rain and food poisoning.15:51
