A sailor competing in the Skagen Race experienced a rig failure when an intermediate shroud unscrewed and detached while sailing in moderate conditions. The crew successfully stabilized the mast by tacking and securing the shroud with Dyneema in Smögen, allowing them to complete the passage under a reefed mainsail.
