Refitting two Yanmar 3YM30AE diesel engines for a 44-foot hurricane-damaged catamaran requires a complete inventory and reconditioning of propulsion components. The project also includes servicing two Max-Prop feathering propellers.9:42 Initial disassembly of the propellers required a heavy-duty gear puller after a standard model failed to clear the hub.12:48 Following cleaning with a die grinder and brake cleaner, the propellers were inspected and confirmed to be in serviceable condition by the distributor, PYI, requiring only new grease, locking bolts, and zincs.15:22 The project remains in the parts-sourcing phase, with a focus on identifying reliable US-based suppliers that provide exploded-view diagrams for Yanmar components.19:43
