The crew of the 10-year refit project *BrewPeg* installs a custom watermaker system, integrating a seawater feed, a high-pressure pump, and a freshwater flush tank.0:48 The installation involves routing seawater from a seacock through a filter to a pump, then to the membrane housing.1:06 To manage the brine discharge, the crew drills and welds a custom fitting into the membrane housing lid.2:25 A secondary 12-volt pump and a dedicated flush tank are mounted to prevent chlorine from entering the membrane, a precaution taken despite advice that chlorine naturally off-gasses.17:05 The system uses blue PEX piping, secured with P-clamps and mechanical fittings, to connect the membrane output to the flush tank and eventually to the main water storage.17:25 During the build, the crew also addresses diesel contamination in the fuel system by switching to a secondary filter and adding a biocide.9:06 The project will remain in the Great Barrier Reef for the next six months to conduct environmental research.24:07
