Hva denne videoen dekker
A Cape George Cutter 36, Magic Carpet, cruises the British Columbia coast toward Toba Inlet to anchor in Brehm Bay, a known grizzly bear habitat.8:56 The crew navigates the inlet’s steep, mountainous terrain, where limited anchoring ledges and significant depths—often exceeding 30 meters—require precise positioning and substantial chain. Localized wind systems within the inlet create unpredictable gusts and whitecaps, complicating the approach and requiring careful scouting to avoid underwater logging debris. The crew anchors in 36 meters of water alongside two other vessels, relying on their ground tackle to hold in the narrow, exposed estuary.18:22 Despite the challenges of filming from a moving boat in windy conditions, the crew successfully observes a golden-colored grizzly bear moving through the tall grass of the estuary.27:52 The experience highlights the necessity of patience and observation when wildlife spotting in remote, seasonal environments. Proper anchoring technique and sufficient chain are essential for safety in the steep, debris-filled inlets of the BC coast.
