The owners of Florence, a 1985 Oyster Heritage 37, completed an eight-month refit to prepare the vessel for high-latitude sailing.1:21 Exterior upgrades include replacing the aluminum toe rail, installing a stainless steel Spade anchor, and upgrading the windlass switches to sealed Lewmar CHSX units.2:14 The crew replaced the previous Treadmaster cork decking with KiwiGrip paint and installed new acrylic windows to address UV damage and crazing.6:57 Deck hardware additions include a new staysail furler, a dedicated staysail car, and a Lewmar double cheek block.7:35 The cockpit features a new pedestal, throttle lever, and custom-made window panels for the existing cockpit tent.9:31 Electronics were modernized with a B&G suite, including a touchscreen chart plotter, radar, and forward-scan sonar, supported by a new Mastervolt lithium battery and solar charging system.10:58 Interior work focused on thermal insulation behind headlining and side panels, including wrapping the mast to prevent condensation.14:51 The crew also repaired a bulkhead crack and refinished the floorboards.18:18
