The construction of the aluminum catamaran SV Delos 2.0 has reached a major milestone with the completion of the outer structure, including the roof, deck, and cabin framing.13:20 During a three-month absence, the team at Stradbrook installed 18 hatches, including 16 deck hatches for ventilation and two emergency escape hatches.16:39 The design features custom-engineered drainage systems for the forward cockpit, utilizing lateral drains to prevent water from entering the hull in following seas.16:04 The builders also incorporated flush-mounted hatches, requiring precise 32-millimeter inset frames to align the glass with the deck surface.17:49 The project, designed in collaboration with a consultant named David, now moves into the interior fitting phase.17:18 The owners, having relocated to Australia to oversee the final stages of the build, are currently establishing a local base, including securing housing and transportation, while managing the logistical challenges of international relocation.20:42
