Johan and Malin flipped the 50-foot hull of their boat by themselves using a system of machine skates, lever chain hoists, and a borrowed front loader.3:09 To prepare for the first turn, they moved the hull 1.2 meters sideways on plywood tracks and gravel, securing the pivot point with straps anchored to trees and the house.1:06 They used Dyneema lines and two chain hoists as brakes to control the hull’s descent and prevent violent movement as the center of gravity shifted.10:52 After successfully turning the hull onto its side, they moved it 4.3 meters to align it for the final maneuver.16:39 They eventually removed the temporary wooden frames, mounted eight wheels directly onto the cradle boxes, and winched the hull back into the barn.24:56 The entire operation, including re-rigging and frame construction, spanned approximately three days of active work.31:10 Controlling the flip manually avoided the costs and time pressure associated with hiring a professional crane operator.30:25
