Sven Yrvind installs navigational lights on two side-by-side masts aboard his boat, with Petter assisting.0:20 The masts are lug-sail rigs with no sail track, which Yrvind identifies as the structural justification for drilling a mounting hole: the absence of a track leaves the mast wall intact and strong at the chosen location. He drills the hole and plans to reinforce the surrounding area with carbon fiber before final installation. Placement is chosen to avoid the antenna, which he judges would cause interference if the light were mounted adjacent to it.0:29 The arrangement puts one light on each mast, with a third spare light held in reserve — if one fails, the other continues to function, or only one can be run at a time.
