Hva denne videoen dekker

Sven Yrvind, approaching his 85th birthday on April 22nd, outlines a contingency plan to sail to the Southern Hemisphere if nuclear war breaks out in the Northern Hemisphere.1:56 His reasoning rests on Hadley cell atmospheric circulation: warm air rising at the equator splits north and south, meaning air masses from the two hemispheres do not mix, which he argues would limit radioactive fallout crossing the equator.2:59 He has ordered a Geiger counter from Amazon to monitor radiation levels; when it triggers, he plans to sail south.1:56 He references a novel — which he describes as set on a beach — in which a nuclear war kills everyone in the Northern Hemisphere while survivors in Australia are spared, as the conceptual basis for this plan.3:18 He also mentions searching Blocket, a Swedish secondhand marketplace, for a small seaworthy boat, and notes his economy is "catastrophic," with a planned book — to be edited by an English-language editor to compensate for his dyslexia — as the financial solution.1:41 The segment closes with a question about daylight-saving-time memory rules used in France and Germany.5:12
