The crew of a cruising sailboat prepares to leave their vessel unattended for the first time while anchored in Puerto Rico. To secure the boat, they install an eight-camera security system and motion-activated lighting to monitor the deck and interior. Before departing, they perform extensive maintenance, including cleaning the hull, propeller, and through-hull fittings of barnacles and marine growth while snorkeling. They also troubleshoot an electrical issue, identifying a misconnected battery isolator that prevented the engine from properly charging the house battery bank. The crew manages the dinghy using a centered towing system to mitigate jerking motions caused by following seas during transit. After securing the boat with locks and finalizing preparations, the hosts travel to the airport to see off a guest who is concluding a multi-year motorcycle expedition across the Americas. The crew plans to return to the boat shortly after their brief absence.
