O que este vídeo aborda
To install a Raymarine autopilot, the owner of a 36-to-42-foot sailboat requires a precise measurement of the rudder post to order a custom bronze tiller arm from Edson.5:31 Because standard calipers lack the necessary ten-thousandths-of-an-inch accuracy, the owner borrows a set of precision calipers from a fellow sailor in a Mexican marina to obtain the required 2.5002-inch reading.4:10 The installation plan involves bolting the tiller arm to the rudder post and mounting a linear drive unit to a steel-reinforced plate within the lazarette.5:16 Separately, marina residents collect baby sea turtles from debris washed into the harbor by mountain runoff following heavy rains.13:46 The crew plans to release the turtles at night to protect them from birds.11:51 Angling solar panels on the boat deck increases light collection and reduces maintenance by discouraging birds from landing on the surface.15:34
