Mieke concludes a two-week search for a canal boat in the Netherlands and Belgium by inspecting a 22-meter steel vessel named Hope.1:41 The boat features large side windows that provide significant natural light and an open-plan kitchen and dining area.1:47 Interior inspection reveals an outdated design, a persistent heavy smoke odor, and visible rust on the steel hull.1:59 The layout includes a bathroom with a shower and a cramped forward cabin accessible only by crawling.2:14 Because the previous owner passed away, no information regarding the engine or onboard systems is available.3:40 The broker, who lives on a nearby houseboat, confirms that another vessel previously considered for viewing is located in Amsterdam, marking the end of the search tour.4:13 The trip served as an educational experience to compare different boat types, price ranges, and personal preferences for a future floating home.5:14
