What this video covers

The American Sailing Association introduces the ASA 102 Keelboat Sailing certification. This course focuses on intermediate sailing skills, including boat handling, sail trim, and safety procedures for keelboats. Students learn to manage a vessel in various wind conditions and practice docking maneuvers. The curriculum emphasizes the transition from basic sailing knowledge to more advanced techniques required for coastal cruising. Instructors evaluate participants on their ability to handle a boat confidently and safely under sail and power. Successful completion of the certification confirms a sailor's proficiency in intermediate-level boat operation and seamanship.
