Louis Sauzedde is constructing a replica of the *Orca* from the film *Jaws* without original blueprints, relying instead on photographic analysis to determine the vessel's dimensions and lines.▶ 7:04 To facilitate the build, the shop installed a loft floor using 12 sheets of half-inch plywood and 12 sheets of quarter-inch Luan donated by Bolta Plywood, with framing lumber provided by Arnold Lumber.▶ 7:46 Sauzedde painted the floor with Total Boat wet-edge topside paint to ensure high-contrast, easily erasable surfaces for lofting lines.▶ 10:12 The project team is currently setting up a grid with lines every foot and three feet to place molds at three-foot intervals.▶ 10:44 To fund the construction, the shop is selling commemorative plaques containing wood salvaged from the *Orca 2* special effects boat, which was abandoned in Menemsha, Martha's Vineyard, after filming.▶ 1:04 The *Orca 1* boat was previously scrapped by Universal Studios, though its steering wheel and fighting chair remain at the Academy of Motion Pictures Museum.▶ 2:53
