What this video covers
The Ronstan Orbit winch features a "Quick Trim" mechanism that allows sailors to ease a loaded sheet without removing the winch handle or unwrapping the line.2:58 By rotating the top cap, the user disengages the self-tailing jaws, enabling controlled line release under load.3:16 The winch design incorporates power ribs on the drum to improve grip and reduce rope wear, a feature similar to those found on Andersen winches.2:04 Ronstan manufactures the Orbit series in sizes 20, 30, 40, 45, and 50, with the 30 and 40 models including the Quick Trim functionality.4:09 The units require no tools for servicing, as the top cap removes by hand once a single grub screw is extracted.1:46 The manufacturer claims the Orbit is 10% lighter and 10% stronger than competing models in its class.1:24 Electric upgrade options are available for the larger winch sizes, allowing for motorized operation on cabin tops.5:09
