What this video covers
Andy of Boatworks Today scouts potential project boats and marina facilities in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, focusing on sites west of his new home. He visits Black River Harbor, a refuge harbor near Ironwood, Michigan, which offers transient docking along a river wall but lacks power hookups and significant boat sales. He then tours Saxon Harbor, which underwent a major reconstruction after a 2016 flood deposited 14 inches of rain in eight hours, destroying the original marina and bridge. The facility reopened in 2019 with new docks and a campground. Despite the high concentration of Chris Craft vessels in the area, Andy finds no suitable project boats for purchase at either location. He plans to continue his search in the Houghton-Hancock, Eagle Harbor, Copper Harbor, and Whitefish Point areas in a subsequent trip.
