What this video covers
Damien and Jess, owners of the 10-year rebuild project *Brupeg*, initiate their first major mission by partnering with the Australian Navy Cadets at TS Bundaberg in Queensland.0:02 The vessel, a former fishing trawler, navigates the river to moor alongside the training facility, a maneuver complicated by strong tidal cross-currents and limited space in the recreational marina.2:51 To safely depart the dock, the crew shifts the boat to a more favorable position to avoid wind-driven contact with the wharf.1:10 Once moored, the project focuses on providing cadets with hands-on experience in engineering, navigation, and vessel operations, bridging the gap for rural cadets who lack regular access to larger naval vessels.18:24 The crew performs final engine room maintenance, including troubleshooting smoke from a heat-wrapped exhaust pipe and installing a temporary engine start switch.10:25 This collaboration serves as the final preparation phase before *Brupeg* departs Australia for an international voyage.21:33 The project validates the vessel's restoration by integrating community service and maritime training into its operational mission.
