The crew of the 27-foot Grinde *Gekko* spent over a month anchored in Fanny Bay, Darwin, while preparing for a passage to Indonesia. The anchorage features extreme tidal ranges of six to seven meters, requiring catamarans to sit high and dry at low tide. During this stay, the crew performed a Harken roller furling installation, which involved replacing the forestay and configuring the furling line to lead back to the cockpit. The project required assembling two-meter aluminum foil sections over the forestay. Outside of boat maintenance, the crew toured the Adelaide River to view saltwater crocodiles and attended Northern Territory Day celebrations, where public firework displays occurred on the beach. They also met musician Adam Scriven, who demonstrated the circular breathing technique required to play the didgeridoo, even attempting to play one of the leftover aluminum Harken furling foils.
