What this video covers

Selecting interior upholstery and mattresses for a new custom aluminum Orion 49 requires balancing aesthetic preferences with durability for diverse climates ranging from the tropics to high latitudes.0:53 Designers recommend Sunbrella marine fabrics for their UV resistance, stain resistance, and ease of cleaning with bleach.4:32 For seating, combining different fabric textures for cushions and backrests adds visual variety, while navy blue Ultra Suede provides a durable, uniform look for the main salon.7:31 When selecting foam for cushions and mattresses, density and layering determine comfort; firmer, high-density foam suits seat cushions, while open-cell Talalay latex is preferred for mattresses to ensure ventilation and moisture management in humid marine environments.9:54 Custom boat interiors often require hand-cut templates to accommodate unique hull shapes and cabin layouts.11:12 Integrating specialized ventilation mesh into mattress bases prevents condensation when slatted systems are not feasible.14:23 Professional interior design consultation helps owners move beyond habitual color schemes to achieve a cohesive, functional living space.6:39
