What this video covers

A friend and musician named Quinton Grimm wrote and performed an original theme song for Magic Carpet and her crew, Maya and Aladino, as a parting gift on the eve of their departure from Vancouver.4:01 Grimm wrote the song in roughly seven hours and memorized and performed it within 37 hours of starting.5:03 The lyrics draw on the crew's years-long refit of Magic Carpet, their sailing around Vancouver Island and up the coast, and specific references to the Fraser River, the Salish Sea, Cape Scott, and the Bering Sea.5:46 Maya notes that Grimm had no input from the crew yet captured the experience accurately.5:25 The song is available on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.7:44 Grimm also has a separate album out on those same platforms.7:33 The content is entirely a lifestyle and farewell moment; no navigation, seamanship, or technical sailing content appears.
