What this video covers
Brittany and Jeremiah, owners of the sailboat Calypso, prepare their vessel for hurricane season in a Florida marina before transitioning to a motorhome for a six-month road trip across the United States. To secure the boat, they remove solar panels, stow sails in the forward stateroom, and wrap the boom and halyards.7:37 They utilize a specialized winch handle that remains attached to the winch to prevent loss overboard in heavy seas.1:41 The couple stores the motorhome in a covered, powered facility to maintain the flooded batteries during their absence.12:11 Their travel itinerary includes a stop at a KOA in Manchester, Tennessee, and boondocking at the Nashville Speedway for the Ally 400 NASCAR race.16:13 The transition involves towing a Jeep, which requires a specific braking system and transfer case configuration.12:47 While they find RV travel significantly easier and more predictable than sailing, they plan to return to the boat after the birth of their daughter.14:24
